Objectives
Don’t X The Line seeks within junior and youth football:
- To eradicate aggressive and abusive behaviour from players and spectators;
- To promote zero tolerance of defamatory comments or language, be it racial or discriminatory, towards referees, officials, fellow players and other supporters;
- To promote an environment for sportsmanship and fairplay in grass roots football;
- To provide education to adults and young people on the importance of respect and tolerance in football; and
- To encourage safe participation for players and spectators in community football activities.
How will we achieve our objectives?
We aim to recruit the support and participation of all the major professional football clubs throughout the UK.
Through our website, we will conduct awareness campaigns and invite clubs of all levels and age groups to sign up to our member’s schemes.
We will seek funding through sponsorship and advertisement, in time to allow the appointment of full time staff to manage our growing number of volunteer helpers and supporters.
We will work with the Police and local community organisations to have a community police officer or Don’t X The Line representative in attendance at all Junior Football Leagues at weekends
